LATNEM Mental Health Support

Latnem Mental Health Support with delivery of Hey Girls products

LATNEM is a fully inclusive Mental Health Peer Support service for mums and birthing people in Scotland who need support with their mental health.

LATNEM founders Linsey and Gill first used Hey Girls period pads through Aberdeenshire Council’s free period products scheme and were impressed by the quality. After learning about the “buy one, donate one” initiative, they decided to apply.

The need

For our community with PTSD, being “triggered” is far more than feeling uncomfortable, it can be deeply distressing and debilitating, often bringing them back to traumatic experiences for days. Avoiding those triggers can have a huge impact on their wellbeing and ability to get through daily life.

The Impact

Periods are a normal part of life, and they shouldn’t have to feel scary. Thanks to access to period pants, often seen as a premium product, mums who otherwise couldn’t afford them can now manage their periods with greater comfort and confidence.

They give me much more confidence during my period and take a weight off in terms of having to remember to buy/get pads. 10/10, life changing.
