How do I insert a period cup?

Period cups can be folded in many different ways making them easy to insert just like you would a tampon. When inside the vagina, the cup creates a seal keeping you leak free throughout your cycle.

To remove it, squeeze slightly to break the vacuum seal before pulling out slowly and gently on the tail of the cup (just like you would a tampon string) and rinse it for your next use.

Give a cup a go! It can be intimidating at first, but find what folds work for you and take your time. We have lots of useful guides on our website and socials if you get stuck.

How long can I wear a cup?

You can wear a cup for up to 12 hours! It’s great for sports and swimming as an alternative to tampons.

How do I clean my cup?

Period cups should be sterilised before and after each use.

Pop the cup into boiling water for 2-3 minutes, making sure it’s cooled down before you insert it! You don’t have to use soap but if you do, make sure it’s natural or silicone friendly.

The easiest way to clean your period cup is with our sterilising pot. Simply pop your cup in and fill the steriliser with water up to 1cm below the rim. Place the lid loosely back on top and microwave for 2-3 minutes.

Does the sterilising pot fit any cup in it?

Yes! Both a small or large period cup fits in our sterilising pot, making them the perfect pair for your period!

The sterilising pot is design to fold away when not it use, so it’s easy to take with you on the go or when traveling. The collapsible design makes it easy for your cup and sterilising pot to fit neatly in our Cup Combo Kit washbags.

I’ve been mulling over a cup for a few years but always been scared about it getting stuck or leaking. I saw Hey girls in my supermarket, and even though I was 24 at the time (close to birthday), after thinking about it seriously (smaller size wasn’t there) I took a gamble and bought! It was super comfy, a little fiddly at times but man I love it! It does leak sometimes but I am super heavy. I went and bought another 1 week later and considering buying one more so I can keep it on my person at all times!!

I bought period pants from another website, they’re amazing but wish I bought more than 1.. now I know you guys sell them im definitely going to buy them along with the reusable pads!! Fantastic company

I had been thinking of buying a cup for a while but stumbling across this gave me the push I needed. It wasn’t expensive and if I didn’t like it, at least I’d helped donate one to another girl/ woman who needed it. I didn’t want to review this until I gave it a go, so now I am near the end of my first cycle and my first ‘clean’ period! So the first three days were ok, the cup is easy to put in and out, but ensuring there is a seal is a bit tricky, especially as you don’t really know what to look for at the beginning. During the heavier days, I found it harder to put the cup in and took about 3/4 attempts to get it right (not a big deal if you’re doing it at home). Anyway, at times it’s no more uncomfortable than having a tampon in but it is definitely a lot cleaner! I’ve had a couple of leakages but this has been easily rectified and in total I have used 4 panty liners. I also suffer from period pains in my back, legs, and womb but I have only had a light touch of pain which doesn’t last long and disappears, so I’m extremely happy about that! I think it also helpful that you can see how much blood there is, as when you feel this on a pad/ tampon and leaking out of you, it feels like a tremendous amount and I generally feel quite grotty. Using the cup, I have felt clean, not sluggish and feel like this is the best period I’ve ever had! I would definitely recommend it and I agree, it’s a definite game changer!

First time to use one. Easy to use and comfortable. Great packaging and the cup feels really great quality. I love that you donate to a girl in need too. Brilliant!

Quick delivery. Slightly larger than a previous cup I used from a different company – good! – but also slightly more rigid – not so good! Great colour, preferable to translucent. Works well, but prefer a slightly more squashable silicone. Like that you gift one of these to another woman and don’t overprice either. Thank you.

Takes a few goes to get used to but an absolute game changer! I chose the large as I’ve had two children and I’m in my forties. I have heavy periods and this was much easier than having to change a pad or tampon every couple of hours. The Cup stays in place and is comfortable to wear. I wish I’d got one sooner!

Great fit, better than other cups I’ve tried (and cheaper)

Fantastic product that works well and offers excellent value. There is a learning curve to using them, but I can’t imagine that would be different for any other brand. V happy to be helping people and the environment at the same time.
