Zero Waste Liverpool City Region have made a commitment to becoming both Zero Waste and Zero Net Carbon by 2040 and want to help support our residents in changing their behaviors to make this goal a reality.
To help promote this transition we have partnered with award winning social enterprise Hey Girls to remove the barrier in accessing reusable products and give residents the opportunity to try them for themselves free of charge to see if they can make the switch to a sustainable option.
Reusable products are not only a more environmentally friendly option but also significantly cheaper long term than their single-use counterparts, and through this scheme Zero Waste LCR aims to tackle not just period waste issues but period poverty as well. For those wanting to learn more about what products are right for them, making the most of their chosen product or period health in general Hey Girls has a range of educational resources available via their Learn webpage.
This scheme is open to all Liverpool City Regions residents, over the age of 18, that have periods. Liverpool City Region includes Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens, and Halton.
Please note;
• This is a pilot scheme with limited allocations and runs on a first come first served bases while stock allows.
• We reserve the right to cease the scheme at any time.
• As this scheme is part of a pilot behavior change project, additional contact is a requirement of all participants and will be based around product feedback and the likelihood of continuing with reusable products. This contact will be for the sole purpose of shaping future projects and will be subject to GDPR, all data will be saved anonymously.
This project has been funded by Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority.
