Henkel joins fight against period poverty

Another big name has joined our fight against period poverty after consumer goods giants Henkel became the latest company to partner with Hey Girls.

The multinational manufacturer, known for its big name brands like Persil, Schwarzkopf and Loctite, now stocks our products through free vend dispensers in its Hemel Hempstead office washrooms.

Further sites across the UK are also set to benefit, with every purchase of products seeing another donated to vulnerable people through our Buy One, Donate One model.

Daisy Williams, Partner and Contracts Manager at Hey Girls, said: “We are thrilled to have such a prestigious name join our fight against period poverty.

“The Henkel team shares our passion for building a fairer and more sustainable society and it is great to now have them on board as a partner.

“Every partnership helps bring us one step closer to our ultimate goals of improving period dignity and eradicating UK period poverty once and for all – and we encourage more big names to step up and do their part.”

Henkel dedicates itself to sustainable innovations through “purposeful growth” – with ambitions to become climate-positive by 2030 and achieve gender parity across all management levels by 2025.

Hey Girls are passionate about the environment and create period products that are both good for nature and your body. That includes ensuring our products are not just free of bleach, toxins and perfumes, but are made using natural, sustainably-sourced ingredients.

Jennifer O’Hagan, Junior Facilities Manager at Henkel, said: “Not only did we want to stock Hey Girls products at the Hemel Hempstead site to support our colleagues, we also wanted to support the amazing ethical, sustainable, and charitable work they do.

“Their initiatives provide a serious approach to tackling period poverty that is reflected in the 25 million products they have donated.

“They have made a pledge towards climate action and signed up to UN’s sustainable goals, so our values are aligned.

“We have been extremely excited to introduce this partner to our facilities and colleagues.”
