Construction is building into an ever more inclusive industry. Here, we look at Hey Girls’ exciting work with one of the biggest names in the business.
Balfour Beatty, a leading international infrastructure group, has been stocking our products across the majority of their UK locations, including both offices and construction sites, from December 2021.
The agreement comes as the construction giants look to play their part in combatting period poverty, an issue affecting one in 10 people in the UK. It also ensures period dignity for staff, another area Hey Girls is looking to see in every business.
The products are distributed by office supplies company Lyreco, and benefit staff throughout Balfour Beatty’s expansive UK network.
Lyreco will also be providing all employees access to period products, both for those based in the office or out on site.
Ailsa Colquhoun, Partnership and Contracts Manager at Hey Girls, said: “All of us at Hey Girls are delighted to work with Balfour Beatty and Lyreco.
“It is great to see the biggest construction contractor in the UK, Balfour Beatty, recognise their social responsibility to their employees and that they too can play a big part in the fight to eradicate period poverty and improve period dignity in the workplace.
“I hope the products will be a welcome sight to Balfour Beatty staff and that our relationship can continue to flourish in the years to come.
“I would also like to thank Lyreco for their support in ensuring a seamless roll-out to the hundreds of locations up and down the country.”
All Hey Girls products are made using sustainable and environmentally-friendly materials, with an ethos on being both good for the body and good for the environment.
Each product purchased by the firm will also be matched with a donation to vulnerable people thanks to our “buy one, donate one” model, which has already seen more than 29 million products donated since our launch in 2018.
