A Shropshire homeless service is the latest charity to be supported by Hey Girls thanks to our partnership with a global office supplies distributor.
Service users at Shrewsbury Ark will benefit from our products thanks to our partnership with leading distributors Lyreco UK & Ireland, providing free access to our range of reusables and disposables.
The organisation has been added to our community partner network after it was selected as a chosen charity by Lyreco UK & Ireland, meaning it will be one of hundreds across the country benefitting from company purchases through our Buy One, Donate One model.
Ailsa Colquhoun, Contracts and Partnerships Manager at Hey Girls, said: “One of the greatest things of linking up with businesses across the UK is being introduced to their amazing partner charities.
“Shrewsbury Ark are a perfect example of this, who provide vital support to homeless and vulnerable people. Unfortunately we find ourselves in a world where the need for their services is increasing – and we want to play our part and help.
“As a community partner, they join a host of other charities and schemes who benefit from our model, and we are very pleased to support them.”
For every purchase made through our commercial partners and in high street stores, Hey Girls match it with a donation of period products to our community partners across the UK.
We are now closing in on donating more than 30 million boxes of products since our 2018 launch, and are proud to continue supporting our amazing and growing network of over 150 charities and community organisations who work directly with people in need.
As well as providing hot food, laundry and postal services to homeless people, Shrewsbury Ark helps them access GP clinics, counselling and accommodation.
It also runs numerous activities including allotment and beekeeping groups, as well as support to help homeless people find work.
Emily Bell, Chair of Trustees at Shrewsbury Ark, said: “We are very thankful to Hey Girls for adding us to their network of community partners.
“The demand for our services is increasing and this support will help ensure that no homeless person will be forced to turn to unsafe and unhygienic alternatives while on their periods.
“Their products will help make a real difference and we would like to express our thanks to both their team and Lyreco UK & Ireland for their support.”
