Smashing Stigma at the Football

Last week, Hey Girls teamed up with pupils from Broughton High School’s “Menstruation Association” to hand out free menstrual cups at a football game – possibly a world first!? The Hibernian FC women’s team were facing Slavia Praha in the UEFA women’s champions league. Although the team didn’t go through, fans got a chance to try out a free menstrual cup as part of the Hey Girls #giveacupago campaign.

Cabinet Secretary (and Hibs fan) Aileen Campbell was there to show her support for this stigma-smashing initiative. As a club, Hibs supports its fans by providing period products in their toilets – and because they stock Hey Girls, for every pack bought by the club, one is donated to a local youth club!

Menstrual cups are great options for sporty people – if you’re curious and want to #giveacupago check out facts and FAQs here, and then head over to the shop to get your own.
