Students period protected during pandemic

UK universities are putting their students first during the pandemic providing Period Equality Home Packs to keep them period protected in lockdown.

The Hey Girls team entered 2021 with new determination to bring #PeriodEquality to as many UK students as possible. We are delighted to report that in the first 5 weeks of the new year, 7 new universities have joined the #PeriodEquality campaign.

We would like to officially welcome Lincoln College, Pembroke College, Balliol College, Trinity Hall, University of Warwick, Edinburgh University and AECC University College to the world of #PeriodEquality.

During the ongoing pandemic, students access to period care has been limited. Campus closures and restricted facilities have left many students without basic period care. We are working with these universities to ensure no one has to worry about their product supply. Students have been offered care packs containing our plastic free disposable products or the opportunity to make the switch to our reusable cups, pads or pants.

Over the past 10 months, we have provided period home packs across the UK. This service is available to any college or university who want to go the extra mile for their students.

Access to period care is a right, not a privilege. We believe it is the fundamental responsibility of education bodies to support their students during this unprecedented time.

Periods don’t stop for pandemics – but neither do we!
