International Women’s Day 2025

Every action, big or small, can drive change for gender equality. This International Women’s Day, the theme is ‘accelerating action’ and at Hey Girls we are committed to making period dignity a reality for all – every day.

Period poverty is not just about access to products. It is about stigma, education and systemic barriers that disproportionately impact women and people who menstruate. That is why we are shining a light on the incredible women in our team who work tirelessly to challenge these issues head on.

Follow the links below as we share their experiences, challenges and the incredible impact they create every day in the pursuit of a fairer, more equal world:

Kate’s passion for education explains the more we talk, the more we break the cycle.

Erika is accelerating action at Parliament.

Vicky shares her story on navigating menopause and power in product choice.

Georgie and Hannah collaborate on Free Period Product Provision in Northern Ireland, with charitable arm of Hey Girls: ‘My Period’.

From delivering free period products to those in need to pushing for policy change at the highest levels, their efforts ensure that no one has to have an undignified period. They are educators, campaigners and changemakers, each bringing their own lived experiences and expertise to accelerate progress in the fight for period equity.

Their stories remind us that collective action is powerful and that by working together we can build a future where period dignity is the norm, not the exception.
